We caught up with Programme Director Margot Schumacher and asked; Why Group Coaching?
The Group Coaching Practicum (GCP) will give you the confidence to work with the psychodynamic-systemic approach in group and team coaching. It will allow you to experiment and work with new processes, tools and techniques. Not only will you work with highly experienced supervisors, but you will also learn as much from experienced fellow participants who want to further develop their coaching, including their style.
KDVI’s methodology: the psychodynamic-systemic approach
Everyone is built through their upbringing and life experiences. In the GCP we explore how the unconscious influences behaviours, thoughts and feelings and how to bring these to the surface, to help coachees create awareness and triggers for further development. The coachees are also operating in a system, where they interact with others in their professional and social context. During the Group Coaching Practicum there is space to explore how to analyse the system and how leaders can become more effective in teams and organisations.
Key development points from the programme
Our participants learn through practice, getting feedback on how to use coaching tools, techniques and processes, and receiving guidance on their coaching style. They are encouraged to experiment and expand their capabilities. They also learn from their (already experienced) fellow participants, by observing and discussing observed interventions. By the end of the programme, the participants feel confident to use their learnings with the groups and teams they work with.
